MT. CALVARY PRESCHOOL SOARS TO NEW LEVEL
Mt. Calvary Lutheran Preschool in Waynedale was recently recognized for reaching the third level of the Paths to QUALITY program of the Early Childhood Alliance in Northeast Indiana. This program works with and identifies early childhood centers who strive to provide quality educational programs for the families and children they serve. In attaining this level, Mount Calvary’s Preschool has met the following criteria:
Level 1: Health and safety needs are met, including criminal history checks, CPR/First Aid training, TB screening, and an emergency plan.
Level 2: Group size and staffing allows for individual attention, the daily schedule promotes play and relaxed routines; and a variety of interesting learning materials and books are a part of the environment.
Level 3: A meaningful, planned program fosters the overall development of the child, affirming them, supporting their interests, encouraging their thinking, and inviting exploration of the world around them.
Attaining level 3, made Mt. Calvary eligible to receive $500 worth of materials to enhance the children’s learning in the classrooms. This is a wonderful addition to the rich environment they already provide. The preschool plans to pursue the final level, which is national accreditation.
