MARVIN CHRISTIAN NIELSEN, JR., 71
Marvin Christian Nielsen, Jr., 71, died Friday, May 10, 2002 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he worked for Dana Corporation as an inventory clerk and retired in 1994 after 35 years of service. He was a Korean War Army veteran and served in the National Guard prior to going into the Army. He served as Past President of Emmaus Lutheran Church congregation and was head Elder. He was also a member of Dana Retirees and a member of David Parrish Post American Legion. “He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing.” He is the son of Marvin Christian Nielsen, Sr., and Mabel (Smith) Nielsen.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Nielsen, Fort Wayne; daughters Pamela Nusbaum, Fort Wayne; Valerie Stein, Fort Wayne; Joy Zirille, Fort Wayne; 5 Grandchildren; and 2 Step-Grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Emmaus Lutheran Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Preferred Memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church and American Cancer Society.
