LOUIS T. HUNKLER, 87
Louis T. Hunkler, 87, died Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Ossian Healthcare Center. A native of Barnesville, Ohio, he worked in the Policyholders Service Department of Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and retired in 1979. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred L. (Hodge) Hunkler who passed away in 1996. He resided in Wheeling, Charleston, Martinsburg, and Pittsburg while working for Reliance Life Insurance. When Reliance was purchased by Lincoln Life, he moved to Fort Wayne. He was a member at Queen of Angels Catholic Church and a choir member, a volunteer for the St. Vincent dePaul Society, a member of Senior Citizens, and a 14-year N.E.A.R.S. volunteer. He also played in various small area bands for 50 years. His parents were Benjamin Hunkler and Anna (McGuire) Hunkler.
He is survived by sons L. Thomas Hunkler, Fort Wayne; William E. Hunkler, Gilbert, Arizona; 9 Grandchildren; and 21 Great Grandchildren.
Services were held C. M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Catholic Cemetery.
