COLVIN AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP
Rachel Colvin, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Neal P. Colvin of Nightfall Road in Fort Wayne, has accepted an academic scholarship from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Rachel will graduate from Bishop Luers High School in Spring 2002, and plans to major in athletic training.
Recipients of a Xavier University academic scholarship must rank in the top 25% of their high school class. They must also achieve a score of 25 or higher on the American College Test (ACT) or 1130 or higher on the Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT).

Krista is one of the winners of the seventh annual Bishop Luers High School Scholarship Exam – Class of 2002. Also winners from St. Therese was Stephen Mitchell and Eric Kleber.

BLHS SENIOR SELECTED FOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM
BLHS recently announced that Rachel Heath, a senior, has been selected as a candidate for the United States Presidential Scholars Program. The USPSP was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors. In 1979, the program was expanded to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional scholarship and talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts. Annually, up to 141 students are chosen from among outstanding graduating seniors to become Presidential Scholars, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.

SPRING VISIT DAY
USF will host a Visit Day for all interested students and their families on Saturday, March 23, 2002. High School students from 9am to 1pm in Gunderson Auditorium in the Achatz Hall of Science, enter from Leesburg Road. Adult students from 9am to 11:30am in the Doermer Center at the corner of Spring Street and Leesburg Road.
Guests and their families are invited to tour the campus and meet with faculty, coaches, and personnel from admissions, financial aid, and Weekend College. Lunch will be provided. USF offers more than 30 undergraduate liberal arts and medical career majors as well as graduate programs in art, business, education, nursing, and psychology. EARLHAM COLLEGE
Local Student Scores Career High
Earlham College sophomore Summer Cress, daughter of Lucy Cress of Freemont, Indiana, and John Cress of Fort Wayne, scored a career and game-high 28 points in the Quakers’ 91-64 loss to Wittenberg University at home on February 6. Cress also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. She is a graduate of Fremont High School.
