Fort Wayne, IN 744-3239

You are invited to A WALK TO BETHELEM by your friends at First Christian Church on either evening of December 7 and 8 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Groups begin the 20-minute journey every 10 minutes. The last group begins at 8:10pm.

Christmas is a time associated with gift giving. First Christian Church will be giving the gift of A WALK TO BETHELEM to our community. Our hope is that you will take a moment to come to the manger and honor Jesus, the reason for this season of hope.

We will journey into five scenes of the nativity complete with live animals and real characters as we travel outside around the church building. Then we will go into fellowship hall to experience the bustling Marketplace of Bethlehem complete with spice and bread vendors, Roman soldiers, a census taker and other characters of the time. Finally, we will go to the sanctuary to see a breath-taking display of over 200 nativity’s from all over the world, featuring Fontanini’s, the Krider Collection, the Sauder Collection, sets from Dove’s Nest and All Saint’s plus much more. Additional display times for the nativities will be each afternoon on the 7th and 8th at 2pm to 4pm. Interpreting for hearing impaired A.S.L. and S.E.E. will be available in the evenings only. Join Mary and Joseph, the angels, the shepherds, the innkeeper, the animals, and your friends at First Christian Church on one of the nights. THE GIFT IS FOR YOU! “1ST ANNUAL MOST AWSOME HUMONGUS WAYNEDALE-WIDE GARAGE SALE”
(Time of sale to be announced as soon as their garage is full.)
Had a garage sale and don’t know what to do with the ‘leftovers’? Are you still sorting through all the stuff Aunt Millie left you in her will, attic, basement, and closets? Someone give you a gift at the last ‘white elephant’ party you attended and you want to get rid of it? Got a garage/basement/attic you want emptied of its contents? The leaders said they are willing to come to your house to pick up your donations. You may drop off your donations at the Scout Cabin but you must call first and arrange for someone to meet you there. Please don’t drop anything off in front of the door; it will only get wet or be stolen. Call and have someone meet you there PLEASE. Take a FREE tour of the Boy Scout Cabin while you’re there. “Don’t throw it out; call a Boy Scout” better yet, call Assistant Scoutmaster Jack Shepard at 436-2422, Scoutmaster John Mortimer at 672-9769, or Assistant Scoutmaster Jay Hughes at 744-0807 for ‘free’ pickup. GIVE A GIFT IN THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON
There’s one gift you can give that doesn’t require a manual, programming or even batteries. In fact it won’t cost you a dime. This year you can give the gift of life by choosing to become an organ donor. The National Kidney Foundation of Indiana (NKFI) is encouraging all Americans to get into the true spirit of the holiday season by simply signing a donor card and discussing their wishes with their family.
There are more than 78,000 men, women, and children in need of a life-saving organ in the U.S. with nearly 800 awaiting a transplant in Indiana. If every American chose to become an organ donor, this waiting list could be wiped out forever. Sign a donor card; it may be the one gift that could change someone’s life. For more information or to receive your free organ donor card, call 1-800-382-9971.
