IN MEMORY:

Comrade – Richard A. Vonderhaar
Harold “Con” Evans – Past Post Commander

FROM A PAST COMMANDER – “MEMORY”

On October 5th we lost another comrade and friend. Harold “Con” Evans, Past All State Post Commander 1997-98, he will be missed at our Post and by many. Con had served as Jr. Vice/Sr. Vice, Post Commander and was presently on the House Committee, and in the same manner as Past Commander Bill Workman, was working Post/VFW business until the day he passed away. Con was at the Post every morning at 7:30am to do his job along with the others on the Committee.
Drinking orange juice, smoking a cigar on his favorite stool at the bar, Con would even play a few tickets, but always talking about current events with his friends, he liked that history channel on the post TV, always ready with a “Hello, How are you doing?” to everyone who stopped by the Post.
Con loved his post and the VFW, his fellow veterans was first on his mind. He would make sure that he was at the Post every Monday to do bills and at the end of his year as Commander he turned over 52 weekly reports, and knew where all the post receipts and disbursements were.
Con was at every event, meeting, on the State, District, and Post level when he was Post Commander, he enjoyed riding on the fire truck in the parades . . . yes, Con Evans will be missed by all who knew him.
– John Dahman, Past Commander

FROM THE LADIES AUXILIARY PRESIDENT –

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and as we join family members on this special day let’s not forget those brave servicemen and women that are in harms way protecting this great country and the freedoms we hold so dear, and the families of those who lost their lives so needlessly on September 11th. The USA is the greatest country in the world, as “United WE Stand.” To those who are ill we wish a speedy recovery and to those who have lost a loved one, you have our deepest sympathy.
– Marrilee Dahman – President
