MOUNT CALVARY LUTHERAN INSTALLS NEW SENIOR PASTOR

Rev. Gary Miller was installed as the senior pastor of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, on Sunday, June 9, 2002. Presiding at the installation was Rev. Arnold Piering, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and counselor for the Fort Wayne South Circuit.

Rev. Miller comes to Mount Calvary after serving congregations in Cleveland and Archbold, Ohio. While leading congregations in the Ohio District Rev. Miller also held several district positions.

Rev. Miller succeeds Rev. Gerald Hartke who had served the congregation for 15 years and then accepted a call in November of 2000. Rev. Jerrold Nichols and Rev. Don Kleinschmidt served the congregation in various capacities during the vacancy period.

Prior to entering ministry Rev. Miller was a Lutheran teacher. Teaching positions held were in St. Paul, Minnesota and Dearborn, Michigan. He is a 1967 graduate of Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois. Rev. Miller has also worked in the secular world as a tool & die maker and as manager of a stamping plant.

Rev. Miller and his wife, Darlene have 2 grown sons who reside in the Indianapolis area.
