LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR WINS
Danielle Snyder, a junior at Wayne High School, and a first year student of Anthis Career Center Cosmetology, competed at the SKILLSUSA-VICA hairstyling competition at Anthis Career Center on Saturday, February 22, 2003. The competition consisted of 2 haircuts and styles, which were performed on a manikin, an evening style, or an “up-do” on a model, and a written test. Danielle’s model was Josie Achenbach, who is also a Cosmetology student at Anthis.
The competition was against other junior and senior cosmetology students at Anthis, as well as students from Heartland Career Center, near Wabash, IN. There were 13 students in the hairstyling competition. Danielle was the only hairstyling student from Anthis to advance to the State competition, which will be held in Indianapolis. The winners will advance to the national Competition in Kansas City, MO. Danielle is the daughter of Dave and Tami Snyder of Waynedale, IN.
