STANLEY J. GUTTMACHER, 81

Stanley J. Guttmacher, 81, died Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital. A native of Dowagiac, Michigan he was a retired former co-owner of Belmont Yacht Club, former co-owner of the Denver Franchise for Azar’s Big Boy, former co-owner of Colony Liquors, Lakeside Package, and Parkview Package Stores and Co-owner of the Hideaway Tavern. He worked part-time for Belmont liquors at the corner of Old Trail Road and Bluffton Road. He was a member of Waynedale Kiwanis Club, the Package Store Association, and a 50-Year member of American Legion Post #47. He was in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve during the time of the Korean War and stationed in both Idaho and at Baer Field.

He is survived by his wife Edith K. Nelson Haines Guttmacher, Fort Wayne; daughters Cathy Ann Haines, Fort Wayne; Cynthia Louise Sandlian, Denver, Colorado; son Douglas E. Haines, Rome City, Indiana; 4 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild.

Private services were held with burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials to Fort Wayne Oncology, Fort Wayne Cancer Association or Fort Wayne Heart Association. Information furnished by Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals.
