JAY B. CAMERON, 76
Jay B. Cameron, 76, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. The Fort Wayne native was a US Army veteran of WWII and Korea, serving in the Eisenhower Guard in WWII and having been awarded the Victory Medal, Army of Occupation of Germany, Expert Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Service Star. Mr. Cameron retired in 1976 from Rea Magnet Wire and was a member of American Legion Post #296. He was preceded in death by his sister Amy and brother Edward.
Survivors include his wife Candoris Cameron; sons Jay B. Cameron II and Danny Cameron both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Jared Cameron, Adam Cameron & Erin Cameron; sisters Mary K. Gill of Fort Wayne; Annie Pape of Otter Lake; Margaret Dippold of Fort Wayne; Sylvia Masbaum Valentine of Fremont, Indiana, and Minnie Weaver of Tucson, Arizona; brothers William Cameron of Fort Wayne, Fidley Cameron of Reading, Michigan; Alexander Cameron of Bloomington; and Murdock Cameron of Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews and many, many good friends
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes Wayne Street Chapel. Interment was in Lindenwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The preferred memorials are Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana or St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen.
