FWCS TAKES NEXT STEP WITH NEW TECH HIGH
The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees will take the next step in implementing New Tech High in the fall of 2009 by approving a bid for the construction of two classrooms, one science room and administrative space. The project-based learning program will open at Wayne High School in August with space for up to 100 freshmen students from throughout the district. Applications are now being accepted from those interested in the program. Work to transform a gymnasium and other space at Wayne into the New Tech area will begin in the spring and must be complete by August 7.
The board on Monday will have considered a bid for electrical projects at seven schools: Adams, Blackhawk, Haley, Maplewood, Northrop, Shambaugh and Washington. The work to be done includes fire alarms, interior and exterior lighting, and electrical panel and switchgear replacements.
