EVELYN S. “EV” HAUSMAN, 77

EVELYN S. “EV” HAUSMAN, 77, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She was born July 10, 1926, in East Liverpool, Ohio. She attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, where she majored in communications. She was Promotion Director of Southtown Mall for several years soon after it opened. She had her own radio show, “The Ev Sutherin Show,” on WGL, for nine years, and co-hosted the Three Rivers Festival Parade on WPTA-TV 21 Alive, while she was on the Board of Directors of the Festival. She was Manager of Advertising and Public Relations at Fort Wayne National Bank for 15 years, the first woman in Fort Wayne to hold that position, and was an honorary member of the Advertising Federation of Fort Wayne, where she received the Silver Medal Award, in 1993, for outstanding service to the advertising industry. She was an avid reader of mysteries and a collector of miniatures.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill; two sons, Will of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Phill of Cary, North Carolina; and five grandsons, Daniel, John, Phillip, Joe and David.

Funeral service was 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27th at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The preferred memorial is Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
