WAY TO GO ZORRO!
On Thursday, October 7th the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at 6141 N. Clinton, Bank One. Witnesses provided a description of a possible suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Clinton Street. Officers located the maroon Chevy Lumina and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were able to make an apprehension after a short foot pursuit.
The suspect, Joseph F. Looper was transported to the detective bureau for questioning and was later arrested for robbery. He also had an outstanding parole violation warrant.
K-9 Zorro recovered the money in some bushes in the 600 block of Ridgewood Avenue.
This case remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Bank Robbery Task Force and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
