ROBERT D. DITTON, 71

ROBERT D. DITTON, 71, of Kendallville died Monday, September 27, 2004, at his residence in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he had resided the past four years after moving from Kendallville.

Mr. Ditton was born June 20, 1933, in Wabash to Obie and Francis (Richards) Ditton. His mother survives in Fort Wayne.

He was a U.S. Marine, serving during the Korean conflict. He had worked as an insurance adjuster for 27 years, and was retired. He had worked as plant manager of the Mahoney Foundation for a couple of years, and was a substitute teacher at East Noble High School. He served as a past president of his mobile home park in Florida.

Also surviving are six daughters, Chris McLhoe of Fort Wayne and Terri Godde, Darlene Starr, Lori Loveberry, Leslie Sunday and Robbie Sennish, all of Michigan; five sons, Matthew Ditton and his wife Angel, Jeff Ditton and his companion Terra Sinser, and Eric Ditton, all of Kendallville, and Brian Ditton and Danny Obrien, both of Michigan; three sisters, Violet Shaddle and Pete Ditton, both of Fort Wayne, and Glendora Ditton; and 19 grandchildren.

Memorial services were at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville, with the Rev. Paul Griebel officiating.

Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
