ROBERT C. SEITZ, 81
ROBERT C. SEITZ, 81, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Parkview Hospital. The Fort Wayne native was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 4th Division as a BAR Rifleman, was involved in the invasion of Normandy at Utah Beach and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the D.A.V., Elmer Pond Post 1 and the I.V. Division of the 4th Division Association. He retired from General Electric Company after 39 years, in 1980. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, GE Quarter Century Club and also volunteered and was very active with the Franke Park Day Camp.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen E. Seitz; sons, Lawrence R. Seitz, Dennis B. (Julie A.) Seitz and Kevin P. Seitz, all of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, David Seitz, Eric Seitz and Natalie Seitz, all of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy P. Seitz.
Funeral service was Saturday, January 15, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St., with the Rev. Daniel R. Leeuw officiating. Burial in Eel River Cemetery.
