RICHARD J. VODDE, 87
RICHARD J. VODDE, 87, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at Woodcrest Nursing Home, Decatur. The Fort Wayne native retired in 1979 from Conrail, after 39 years with the company, formerly known as Penn Central and the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Decatur, Roanoke Lodge No. 195, F. &A.M., Roanoke Chapter No. 62, O.E.S. and Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his son, James R. (Debra) Vodde of Troy, Ohio; daughter, LeAnna J. (Al) Noble of Decatur; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Vodde, in 2001.
Funeral service was Saturday, January 15, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Calling was Friday, January 14, with Masonic service at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
Preferred memorials to First United Methodist Church, Music Ministry or Cancer Services of Allen County.
