MARKLEBANK STAFF COMMENDED AFTER ROBBERY
Jeff Espich, MarkleBank’s Chairman of the Board, congratulated employees Linda Kiel, Sally Ford, and Rick Oatess for their responses to the recent robbery at MarkleBank’s Warren branch. Kiel and Ford are tellers at the Warren office, and Rick Oatess is MarkleBank’s Security Officer and a former Indiana State Trooper. Kiel, Ford, and Oatess were presented with plaques and gift certificates at the bank’s January board meeting.
Kiel and Ford both interacted with the robber and followed procedure throughout the experience. Immediately following the robbery, employees got a description of the getaway vehicle while notifying police.
Oatess credited the updated, digital recordings of the robbery with the timely identification of the suspect. These recordings enabled law enforcement to distribute clear pictures of the robber within an hour of the robbery. The high quality pictures of the suspect were instrumental in generating good leads. The suspect is now in custody.
Travis Holdman, MarkleBank’s President and CEO, commented, “Good equipment, training, and the best staff who do things right contributed to the quick identification and capture of the suspect. The staff kept cool heads and everyone was safe.”
