HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELYN YOUNG!

On Sunday, April 2, 2006, Helyn Young will be “in church service” at Waynedale United Methodist Church where she can be found almost every Sunday morning. She will be honored for her 87th birthday with a rose on the altar. Waynedale United Methodist Church is a very important part of Helyn’s life as she continues to participate in church activities just as she has for over 70 years.

Helyn moved to Waynedale at age 15 to live with Lewis and Nellie Herman (relatives by marriage) at 7026 Old Trail Road (later the Stark family home). At age 21 years, Helyn married Richard Good and together they built a home at 7304 Old Trail Road where Helyn continues to live today. Helyn takes a great deal of pride in “LIVING IN HER SAME HOME FOR 65 YEARS !!”

Helyn has two daughters- Rosalie Waldrop of Ft. Wayne and Margie Good of Lansing, Michigan – who will join her for a special Birthday Luncheon at Clay’s Family Restaurant in Fremont on Saturday, April 1rst. Helyn also has a grandson. Rod Waldrop, of Atlanta, GA and a granddaughter, Rhonda Waldrop of Garland, TX. Although far away in miles, Helyn’s grandchildren are “close in spirit”.

Helyn’s slogan for everyone is “KEEP SMILING!” Cheers to Helyn Young as she celebrates her 87th birthday on April 2nd!
