JAMES F. WEIKS, 69
JAMES F. WEIKS, 69, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital. Born May 21, 1937 in Escanaba, Michigan, he retired in 1997 from General Electric Corp. after more than 30 years of service.
A member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Broadway Rod & Gun Club, he was devoted to his children & grandchildren and was an avid Detroit Tigers
and Fort Wayne Komets fan. He enjoyed hunting & fishing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and was a 100% “Yooper.”
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary L. (Trygg) Weiks; sons, James R. (Linda) Weiks of Leo and Jeff (Paula) Weiks of Woodburn; daughters, Terri (Don) Storer and Shelley (Don) Robertson, both of Fort Wayne and Lisa (Mitch Foltz) Weiks of Huntington; sister, Candice (Sam Olson) Tryan of Flippin, Arkansas; fourteen grandsons, five granddaughters and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert H. Weiks, Clarence F. “Bill” Weiks and John Weiks.
Funeral Service was Monday, June 19, 2006 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Burial in Rapid River Cemetery, Rapid River, Michigan.
The family’s preferred memorial is The Ogontz Fund.
