GLORIA BELLE McOMBER
GLORIA BELLE McOMBER, 86, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Hospice Home. Born September 24, 1923, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Forest R. and Ella (Bradbury) May. She was owner/operator of El-May Apartments. She was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church and involved with Boy Scouts as a Den Mother and organizer.
Surviving are her husband, Karl W. McOmber, Jr. of Fort Wayne; her sons, Karl W. “Mick” (Mary) McOmber III of Columbia City and Gary R. (Linda) McOmber of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William May and Ronald May; her sisters, Princess Poorman and Bonnie Seaman; one grandson, Jonathan T. McOmber; and one great-grandchild, Elliott Rasche.
Service was 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation was from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
