TOM MALOTT 2007 MASTER OF CEREMONIES WAYNEDALE MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
In a year when Indiana lost 79 soldiers in Iraq, Commander Tom Malott, American Legion Post 241, takes seriously his second term as Master of Ceremonies at this year’s graveside memorial honoring local veterans. Malott, a twelve-year member of the American Legion, is a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne and has resided locally in Waynedale for 42 years.
Malott and his wife Dee are the parents of six children. Malott, a proud supporter of the Waynedale Memorial Day tradition, encourages other parents, saying, “Children imitate their parents. If they see their parents involved in something like the parade and memorial ceremony, then they will become involved.”
Malott, reflecting on the parade’s impact said, “Every year the parade gets bigger. It is a wonderful tribute to the memory of the sacrifices that have been made.”
