PRINCESS D. (MAY) POORMAN, 96, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, November 12, 2007, at Coventry Meadows. Born on November 25, 1910, in Fort Wayne, she worked at General Electric for three years, Howard’s Camera Shop, and Waynedale Cleaners for 20 years. She was a charter member of Waynedale United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, Donald R. (Janet) Poorman of Fort Wayne and Allen L. (Meredith) Poorman of Roanoke; daughter, Beverly M. (Earl) Fleck of Fort Wayne; sister, Gloria Belle (Carl) McOmber of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Forrest R. and Ella (Bradbury) May; husband, Russell L. Poorman; brothers, William May and Ronald May; and sister, Bonnie Seaman.
Service was 11 a.m. Thursday at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road. Visitation was from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
