ANTHONY “TONY” GABRIEL, 93
ANTHONY “TONY” GABRIEL, almost 94, of Fort Wayne departed this life March 17, 2017 at St. Joe Hospital. He was born in Naugatuck, CT. He worked as the chef at various area restaurants, and was the head chef at Van Orman Hotel. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and traveling. Tony was a Marine who fought in some of the toughest battles ever to have been fought in the Asia-Pacific in WWII, bombarded by shrapnel, and lucky to have survived. He lived life “HIS” way.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Beatty-Gabriel; children, Danelle and Gina; sister, Frances Santilli; and granddaughter, Nicola.
A memorial visitation was held at Waynewood Inn, 8421 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, IN on April 1, 2017 from 5 to 7pm.
