JACK D. FORBING, 63
JACK D. FORBING, 63, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, February 29, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital. Born on December 24, 1944, in Fort Wayne, he was an Indiana State Police dispatcher, retiring in 1994, and former co-owner of Forbing Insurance for 33 years, President for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force, and was a lifelong ham radio operator, Amateur Radio call sign K9LSB. He liked computers, and was an American Radio Relay League Life member, Northern Indiana Medical Response Team member, Hoosierland Amateur Mobile Systems President, Air Force M.A.R.S., and Northeast Indiana U.H.F. Associates President.
Survivors include special friend, Amy Heath of Fort Wayne; brothers, Mike S. (Pam) Forbing and Gary L. (Nancy) Forbing, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Linda (Mike) Kiester of North Manchester; nieces and nephews, Chris, Angie, Luke, Paul and Mark Forbing, and Ashleigh and Meghann Kiester.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Ruth E. Forbing.
Service was Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation was Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
