RICHARD “DICK” J. LADD, 74
RICHARD “DICK” J. LADD, 74, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a retired technician with GTE with 38 years of service and an official scorer at Baer Field, Steuben County and Avilla Race Tracks. He was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran and member of Trinity Episcopal Church, American Legion Post 82, GTE/Verizon Retiree Club, Korean War Veterans Association, and a Board member of the Northeastern Indiana Racing Museum.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Ladd of Fort Wayne; daughter, Terri (Phil) Gross of Fort Wayne; sons, Rick Ladd and Jerry (Laura) Ladd both of Churubusco; sister, Roberta Didion of Fort Wayne; brothers, Paul Ladd of Fort Wayne, Larry Ladd of Nashville; and grandchildren, Kelly Gross, Jamie, Chris, and Troy Ladd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul J. and Louise Ladd; and sisters, LaDonna Werkman and Rosemary Ladd.
Service was Thursday, March 13, 2008 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. The Rev. Dr. Thomas Hansen officiating. Calling was Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, with Military graveside service by American Legion Post 82.
