VALENTINE’S DAY

Valentine’s Day comes every year on the same day, February 14th but it does not always fall on the same day of the week which could be good or bad, depending on your circumstances. If you are in the restaurant business Fridays and Saturdays are bad because they are already busy on those two days so any other day would be better. Sunday, as it is this year, proves to be an interesting day as they still get busy Fridays and Saturdays but gain one more day of business.

Even restaurants that are normally closed on Sunday will open for this very important holiday.

For the floral industry, Sunday Valentine’s Days are about the worst day of the week for so many reasons. First, people do not think that you will be open on Sunday. Second, they don’t know that you will deliver on that Sunday. Next, because it is Sunday, people who did not order early figure that it’s too late for flowers and of course, Monday is a day late. Another issue concerning flowers and Valentine’s Day is that most folks want their flowers delivered to work and not many people work on Sunday, or even Saturday for that matter. This means that Friday becomes the big day for Valentine’s floral deliveries but you must plan ahead.

With all of that said, it would be a good idea to call your favorite florist now, today and get the job done. Sure you can always go to a chain store for flowers but all of a sudden quality and personal service is out the door.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
