HELEN HOPKINS COOK LANGMEYER, 83

HELEN HOPKINS COOK LANGMEYER, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She had been a member of St. Therese Catholic Church for over 50 years, and regularly attended St. Gasper Church, Wolcottville, during “lake season”. She retired from Dulin, Ward and Dewald Accountants, after many years of service.

She always put her husband, Tom, first and loved being surrounded by family. Helen also loved the simple things in life. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, flower arranging, playing cards, and board games, and cooking.

Her second great “love” (besides Tom) was spending time at the lake. She loved everything about it-the neighbors, the quiet, the water, the time with family and friends. Helen always had a positive attitude that was contagious.

She will be greatly missed by many, and we will remember her fondly until we meet again. John 11:25-26.

She is survived by four daughters, Jayne (Sergio) Garcia, Julia Langmeyer, Jennifer (Harmon) Hensley and Janice (Kim) Kenline; 11 grandchildren, Justin Olson, Cara Hensley, Jill (Kevin) Dunham, Abbey (Ryan) Mooney, Eric Hensley, Stephanie (Jeremy) Johnson, Luke Freck, Meghann (Zach) Powers, Erin (Josh) Harshman, Miranda Cox and Katie Kenline; 13 great grandchildren, Kylie Brenner, Aiden Johnson, Jayden Dunham, Jack Harshman, Janelle Dunham, Mason Noel, Aniyah Cox, Camille Johnson, Madilyn Johnson, Stella Mooney, Korbin Powers, Henry Harshman and Arden Mooney; her brother David Cook; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Thomas Langmeyer; her parents, Paul and Gladis Cook; brothers George and Thomas Cook; sisters Marianne Freeman, Martha Linden and Sara Cook; and great – grandson, Xander Powers.

Funeral Mass at 11:00 Wednesday December 10, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Visitation also 3-8pm, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Rd.
