SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION POST #241 DONATES GENEROUS AMOUNT

Check presentation to Troop #344 (L to R)  S.A.L. Commander Mike Shuler, Matt Johnson, Scoutmaster Troop #344, Walt Pressler, Committee Chairman-Troop #344Troop #344 is sponsored by the Waynedale United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Church Street, and Old Trail Road. Matt Johnson is the Scoutmaster. Walt Pressler is the committee Chairman. Each year we have parents turn down their son’s request to attend Summer Camp at Anthony Wayne Area council’s Chief Little Turtle because of lack of funds.

Summer Camp is the major event of the year for Boy Scouts. At camp, the boys have lots of fun, learn new skills and work on merit badges, such as camping, cooking, swimming, first aid, etc., that help them to attain rank positions in the troop.

Thanks to the American Legion Post 241 donation, Troop 344 boys will be able to attend camp this year, and some of the money may be used to assist boys to get sleeping gear, or a uniform to wear to camp.

The week long camp costs each boy approximately $250, with food included. This is the fourth year in a row that the Sons of American Legion has made a generous donation to the boys of Troop #344. The donation from the Sons of American Legion is greatly appreciated! Thank You SAL Post 241!
