JAMES R. SHELEY, 91
JAMES R. SHELEY, 91, of the Roanoke area, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. He was born June 8, 1922 in Middle Point, Ohio to the late Claude and Ethel Sheley.
He retired from International Harvester after 25 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 99th division at Battle of the Bulge.
He loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed walking and cutting wood.
After retirement he moved and reconstructed a log cabin, completing it by constructing a stone chimney.
Surviving are his wife, Donnabelle Sheley of Roanoke; daughter, Susan E. (Steve) Reddin of Yoder; granddaughter, Lisa (John Jr.) Reddin Olry of Fort Wayne; and great grandchildren, Lauren and Morgan Olry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thural, Leo, Alfred, Claude and Charles Sheley.
Funeral Service was Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation also Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Union Cemetery, Huntington County.
