FT. WAYNE NATIVE RETURNS TO PRESENT SNAKES WEAR SOCKS
CD Hullinger, native of Fort Wayne is coming to area elementary schools to present her new children’s book called Snakes Wear Socks. What is newsworthy about her North American book tour is that her mission is to travel the United States to help bring art into the schools through literacy.
So many schools are losing funding for the arts and therefore she does not charge for her presentations. In her presentations CD reads her illustrated Snakes Wear Socks book to students and then answers questions. The presentation is then turned into a drawing lesson where volunteers can take stage and help create!
CD hopes that after her presentation, students are encouraged to “believe in their talent”. After a presentation at Earhart School in Lafayette, IN, fourth grader Alexa Nelson said she could see herself one day being an illustrator. And now she knows the secret. “Just never give up,” Alexa said. “You can accomplish anything if you want to.”
