BETTY ELAINE HOUCK
BETTY ELAINE HOUCK, died Monday, September 29, 2008, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, after a valiant fight with cancer. Born December 21, 1924, in Fort Wayne, she was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center and retired as Manager of the Colony Dress Shops in Fort Wayne, in 1980.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Charles) McGregor of Fort Wayne; son, Gary (Claudia) Houck of Roanoke; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Eichenauer of Fishers, Emily (Craig) Alexander of Aurora, Illinois, Douglas (Melanie) McGregor of Angola and David (Lindsey) McGregor of Angola; four great-grandchildren, Claudia Eichenauer, David Eichenauer, Hudson Alexander and Grant Alexander; sister, Marion (Albert) Jacquay; and brother, Robert (Deloris) Scheiman.
She was preceded in death by husband, Melvin C. Houck Jr., in 1995.
Service was Thursday October 2, 2008 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with visitation two hours prior. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
