ZERO-WASTE LIFESTYLE ART – OPENING RECEPTION

Where: Artlink Contemporary Gallery
Add’l: Attend a special presentation, “Moving Toward a Zero-Waste Lifestyle,” by Allen County Department of Environmental Management from 8-8:30pm on February 22nd. Whether you’ve briefly heard about “zero waste” or are currently putting it into practice, ACDEM will offer practical and actionable advice on waste reduction and will answer questions from the audience.

FRUELINGSFEST (SPRING CONCERT) AND DINNER

Add’l: This year we are celebrating with a number of special events. Watch for our announcements. Dinner is served at 6:00 PM. It is our traditional Schlachtfest (Bratwurst) Dinner with sour kraut and all the trimmings. The concert follows the dinner with a 35 voice chorus directed by Thomas Remenschneider. A highlight of the evening is presentation of the winners of an essay contest for local high schools students of German. Prizes will be awarded.

EVERYBODY NEEDS A ROCK
When: Wed. April 3, 10a-noon
Where: Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center
Add’l: Though we might not realize it, we all use rocks every day! We will explore why there are so many rocks (and sand and gravel) in northern Indiana, use models to find out how they got here, and discover some ways people use them. We’ll also walk to an old gravel pit to explore what kinds of rocks are there and use a number of senses to learn about them. We will even look for our own special rocks to take home.

APPLESEED QUILT GUILD MEETINGS

Add’l: Our members include all levels of quilting experience — novice, intermediate and advanced.
