K9 “BULLET” PASSES AWAY

It is with regret that I inform you that K9 Officer Gary Griffith’s retired partner K9 Bullet passed away this morning at approximately 08:40.

K9 Bullet was born July 3, 2006. She joined the ranks of the Fort Wayne Police K9 Unit May 4, 2009. She retired February 1, 2017 with 8 years of service. Bullet spent her entire career working B-shift with Gary. She was a fantastic police work dog and a loyal partner to Gary. In her retirement she partnered with Gary’s son and made sure there were no problems at the Griffith home.

It is unfortunate that she is gone but, we were lucky to have known and worked with such wonderful animal. She will be missed by all that knew her. We take some comfort in that she is no longer suffering and has joined the many Police Service Dogs that have gone before her. I believe there is a special place for the Peace Keepers of the world that have passed on and that is where Bullet will be waiting.
