“KLOTHES FOR KIDS” FISH & CHICKEN FUNDRAISER
The Waynedale Lions Club will once again team with Waynedale Elementary, the PTA, and other local organizations to raise funds for local children in need. This year’s fundraiser will be held on Friday, May 11 from 4-7pm. All generated funds will be used to buy local children in need uniforms, sweats and undergaments. The fundraiser will be a fish dinner with desserts provided by PTA and other groups. The event will be held at Waynedale Elementary School located at 7201 Elzey Street, Fort Wayne, IN.
Last year the project served 296 fish and chicken dinners, and the Waynedale Lions were able to present a check for $2,000 to the school, which will be used to purchase uniforms and sports equipment for the children.
Gerret Swearingen, President of the Waynedale Lions Club and lead organizer of the event stated, “Many parents have trouble affording many of the basic school supplies and clothing items for their child. Each year, our club looks forward to projects that continue our ongoing partnership with Waynedale Elementary, and, helping the school to meet some of the students’ additional needs.”
Waynedale Elementary School and Waynedale Lions invite one and all to come enjoy some food and fellowship that supports a good cause in our community.
Ticket costs are $10 pre-sale for adults, $12 at the door. $6.50 for children. Lions can contact our club at 260-747-7224 to purchase pre-sale tickets.
