The Indiana General Assembly reconvenes next month for the 2018 legislative session. Between January 3 and mid-March, my colleagues and I will conduct research, listen to testimony, and author and vote on legislation that addresses issues facing our state.
It’s important for me to get feedback from constituents in Senate District 16 as I form my approach to legislative topics.
To help facilitate that feedback, my office creates a legislative survey each year that allows Hoosiers to share their opinions on issues the General Assembly expects to address.
This year, the survey includes questions regarding the opioid epidemic, Indiana’s alcohol laws, school calendars, handgun permits and short-term rental services like Airbnb.
Hoosiers can complete the survey online by visiting www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/2018-legislative-survey-long.
Residents of Senate District 16 may have also received a letter in the mail, which includes a survey that can be detached and sent back to me at the Statehouse. To be considered, all surveys must be submitted by Monday, January 15.
I look forward to finding out your thoughts on the subjects listed in the survey, and I will take them into consideration when voting on important legislation this session.
In addition to submitting a survey, I encourage you to stay connected with me and your state government by visiting www.in.gov/iga. There, you can view legislative proposals, watch committee hearings and session meetings, and track legislation. To sign up for my weekly e-newsletters, visit www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Long.
You can also stay informed on what is happening at the Statehouse by following our caucus on social media. Follow @INSenateGOP on Twitter, Indiana Senate GOP on Facebook, INSenateRepublicans on Instagram, and INSenateGOP on YouTube.
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the legislative survey or other topics, contact my office by phone at 800-382-9467 or by email at Senator.Long@iga.in.gov.
