ALPHONSE LUDWIG “ARCHIE” SCHEUERER, 82
ALPHONSE LUDWIG “ARCHIE” SCHEUERER, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was born in Fort Wayne on September 18, 1934 to the late Ludwig and Bertha Scheuerer. His parents were both born in Germany before coming to the United States. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant and was an Armor Tank Mechanic. He was a jack-of-all trades from carpentry to being a passionate gardener. Alphonse was also a handy mechanic. He built a cottage on Lavine Lake, MI with his father. Alphonse worked at Norfolk Southern Railroad and International Harvester.
Alphonse is survived by his wife and love of his life, Janet; children, Bruce (Sherry) Scheuerer and Deborah (Greg) Weil; grandchildren, Emily (Alex) Langdon, Brent Scheuerer, Nicholas (Brittni) Krauter, Blake (Chelsey) Weil, and Natalie Weil; and great-grandchildren, Ryker, Ellce, and Knoxton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Loffi.
Memorial service will be on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 12:00 pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church (16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819) with one-hour of calling prior. Service will be officiated by Rev. Harrison D. Gapter.
Final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
