KLAFFKE’S 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Johannes and Marianne Klaffke, Fort Wayne, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married on December 29, 1956 in Osnabrueck, Germany at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The newlyweds immigrated by ship to the land of opportunity in 1957, arriving in New York harbor on May 1 and traveling to Fort Wayne where their immigration sponsor, Joseph Colligan, lived.
They have four children, Stephan, Thomas, Eva (Tully), Doris (Loomis), and 12 grandchildren.
Johannes was a co-owner of Waynedale Lumber, retiring after 44 years as a cabinetmaker. Marianne retired as a teacher from FWCS after 21 years of service. She currently enjoys being a substitute teacher for SACS.
