WALTER D. MANES, 86
WALTER D. MANES, 86, of Fort Wayne passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born on February 15, 1930 to the late Delbert E. and Bessie L. (Flickenger) Manes. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Slater Steel and was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church.
Surviving family includes his sons, Walter Kurt, Greg and Brad Manes; his new sweetheart, Charlene Bloom; sister, Harriett Van Hoozen.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Eleanor L. (Harshman) Manes; a daughter, Sue A. Manes; siblings, Charlotte Johnson, Barbara Motz, Phyllis Lorenz, JoAnn Graves, Patricia Motz, Mary Lou Jackson, Martha Jamieson, David Manes, and Anthony Manes.
Funeral service was 11:00 am on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
