WILLIAM L. DAVIS, 85

WILLIAM L. DAVIS, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1930 in Murray, Indiana to the late William Harvey and Anna (Miller) Davis. He worked as store manager and district manager, managing several different Montgomery Ward’s stores throughout the country. He had over 30 years of sobriety and AA participation, helping many people while working as a drug and alcohol counselor at the Washington House. He then worked as a driver for Kelly Chevrolet. He loved woodworking and was a handy man in general.

He was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Betty Davis of Fort Wayne; children, Vicki Lynn (Rick) Phillips of Kent, Ohio, Melodie (Martin) Koher of North Webster, Indiana, Michael (Kathy) Stutzman of Florida, Edward (Janet) Stutzman of Spokane, Washington, Lea (Bill) Richardson of Milford, IN, and Lanita (Tim) Yoder of Warsaw, IN; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Pence of Huntington, Joan Hoover of Roanoke, and Carolyn Davis of Fremont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill J” Davis; and brother, Dale Davis.

Funeral was Friday, May 6, 2016 at 3 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
