KARL W MCOMBER, JR., 93, formerly of Fort Wayne passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016. He was born on April 26, 1923, a son of the late Karl W. and Mrytle (Ford) McOmber, Sr. He served in the Merchant Marines. He was the co-owner of ElMay Apartments and also worked at General Electric. He was a member of Waynedale United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #241, and Lions Club. He worked with the Boy Scouts for over 25 years, at one time serving as an executive board member. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends.
Surviving family include his son, Karl “Mick” (Mary) McOmber III; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Gloria Belle (May) McOmber; son, Gary R. McOmber; sister, Helen; and a grandson and great grandson.
Funeral service was 2 pm Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
