JUNE “SIS” MARJORIE (PETERS) HUGHESJUNE “SIS” MARJORIE (PETERS) HUGHES passed away February 5, 2015 at home surrounded by her family members. She was born June 10, 1926 in Fort Wayne to the late Joseph Charles and Evelyn Laura (Martin) Peters. She was the fourth of nine children.

She attended Central High School for 2 years. She met Bennie Mitchel Hughes in November 1941 on a blind date and he was the LOVE OF HER LIFE. They were married October 15, 1942, and for 66 years they shared their lives and love for each other. She worked for a while at G. C. Murphy’s in downtown Fort Wayne and then at W. T. Grant at Southgate Plaza.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Cheryl) Hughes of Muncie, Beverly (William) Roberts of Angola, and Benita (Donald) Bramer of Grand Junction, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Bernard Lester (Betty Marie) Peters of Howe, Indiana; sister in laws, Phyllis Peters, Betty Jean Peters, and Janet Peters; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchel; brothers, Raymond, Eugene, Joseph, and Kenneth Peters; and sisters, Lorraine Winchester, Eileen Mee Nuehouser, and Naomi Peters.

Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Visitation was on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
