DENNIS D. MCCLURE, 53
DENNIS D. MCCLURE, 53, of Fort Wayne, passed away, Monday, November 10, 2014. He was born on September 28, 1961 in Lima, Ohio to Russel and Barbara McClure. He graduated from Notre Dame with a BS in Geology and University of Illinois at Chicago with a MS in Geology. He is currently a doctoral candidate in astrophysics at Ball State University, overcoming the adversities of leukemia, loss of vision, and diabetes, he recently completed his dissertation. He was also a teacher at Woodlan High School, Ivy Tech, and Ball State.
Mr. McClure was a natural teacher who loved to discuss many different topics; including, history, politics, science, and religion. He enjoyed reading, gardening, Notre Dame football, and Roll Playing Games (RPG) with friends and family.
Surviving family include his wife, Susan; daughter, Meagan, with whom he shared a very special bond; mother, Barbara; brother, Jeffrey (Jane); nieces, Emily, Madeline; nephew, Joel Schiffli; and cat, Miss Puddy Wickems.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Russel, in July 2014.
A funeral service was 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 East Pettit Ave., with calling one hour prior. Visitation was from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd.,Fort Wayne.
