REVITALIZATION PROJECT WAYNE HS NEW TECH ACADEMY
Students at New Tech Academy at Wayne High School will present their ideas for downtown redevelopment to community leaders Friday, April 11.
Students worked with the Deputy Mayor’s Office to propose redevelop ideas for a 6-square mile section of downtown Fort Wayne. To prepare, students analyzed ancient city beginnings, world city structures and current Fort Wayne city planning. They also visited the new Envision Center to help prepare their ideas and to better understand the needs of our community.
Their final projects include drawing their revitalized downtown Fort Wayne ideas to scale, recording a walking tour of their new city in English and Spanish, creating advertising and brochures highlighting new attractions and writing an individual rationale explaining their decision process and reasoning for their ideas.
Community leaders have been invited to walk through the gallery of ideas from 8:35-10:30a.m. and 1:40-3:30 p.m. Guests will be able to listen to students, ask questions and provide feedback.
