PRESCHOOLERS VISIT BOTANICAL GARDENS
St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth School four-year-old preschoolers visited the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Gardens on May 10, 2013. Along with their preschool teacher Sharen Gall, preschool aides, parents and grandparents, the preschoolers visited the desert room and the rain forest room, looking at the different plants.
Of special interest to the preschoolers was their visit to the butterfly tent in the main room that hosts changing exhibits. A wide variety of butterflies and moths fluttered by the preschoolers, sometimes lighting on plants and sometimes lighting on the preschoolers themselves. The preschoolers have been doing a unit of study of the development of the insect, from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.
