ISABELLE FRANCES PFEIFfER OPLINGER – 102
Isabelle Frances Pfeiffer Opliger, 102, died April 17, 2013. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter H. Opliger.
Isabelle’s surviving daughters are Patricia Leland, (Edward) Van Wert, Ohio; Carol Fahl (Stan), Fort Wayne; and Linda Elonzae (Steve), Roanoke. Isabelle’s six grandchildren include Nicholas (Prudence) Elonzae; Kara (Michael) Jaurigue; Matthew (Marie) Elonzae; Stacey (Stephen) Hammond; Scott (Kris) Leland and Shawne Leland. Isabelle had twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Isabelle’s surviving brothers and sisters include Allen, Ernest, and Don Pfeiffer, Virginia Johnson, Edith Armington, and Beatrice Stebing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances (Hartman) Pfeiffer, and siblings, Alice Miller, Esther Miller, and Arnold, George, and William Pfeiffer.
Isabelle was Past Noble Grand of Queen Esther, Rebecca Lodge #324, a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, and York Township Extension Homemakers. She worked at the Wayne Knitting Mill, Char-King, and Wolf and Dessauer. She was a 4-H leader. Isabelle enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.
Funeral service was Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry Street with calling one hour prior. Visitation was 3-7 pm Friday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial was at Covington Memorial Gardens.
Preferred memorials to Visiting Nurse, Asbury United Methodist Church, Albion, IN or Lutheran Life Villages.
