NEIL EUGENE GRIDER, 73
NEIL EUGENE GRIDER, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Covington Manor. He was born September 21, 1938 in Fort Wayne to the late Lloyd and Olive (Kinerk) Grider. He retired in 1998 after 39 years at GTE/Verizon where he worked as a foreman in the installation department. He was active in the Fort Wayne photography department. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed steam locomotive history.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sharon Kay Grider of Fort Wayne; sister in law, Linda (Jerry) Bailey of Fort Wayne; niece, Krista (Jarod) Lee of Fort Wayne; nephew, Chad (Jennifer) Bailey of Fort Wayne; great niece, Ava Lee; and great nephews, Carson Bailey, Maddox Bailey, and Brendon Lee.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Grider in 2011.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Dr., Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
