JANET D. POORMAN, 78
JANET D. POORMAN, 78, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday May 15, 2012. She was born on November 6, 1933 in Yoder to the late William and Clara (Swank) Myers. She worked at Montgomery Ward and later at Perfection Biscuit Bakery where she retired.
She was a member of the Fort Wayne Red Hats, Elmhurst Alumni card club, and International Church of God where she served as treasurer.
She will be remembered as a great seamstress and a loving grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving family include her husband of 61 years, Donald Poorman; children, Donald (Theresa) Poorman II, Sherry McGinnis all of Fort Wayne; siblings, William Myers, Gary (Shirley) Myers, Jim (Gerri) Myers; grandchildren, Sara, Becca, Mariah, Heather, Matt, Adam, lance; great grandchildren, Joey, Logan, Tristan, Megan, Clara, Emily, and George.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by a son in law, Larry McGinnis, granddaughter, Trisha, and great granddaughter, Elizabeth.
A funeral service was held on Friday May 18, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old trail Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one-hour prior. Visitation was from 4-8 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
