ELLEN LORAINE SPRUNGER, 93
ELLEN LORAINE SPRUNGER, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 8, 2012. She was born Friday, September 13, 1918 in Fort Wayne to the late Kurt Adler and Anna (Stewart) Pender. She graduated from Northside High School. Mrs. Sprunger worked for Indiana Bell as an operator for 6 years and then worked for 13 years at Fort Wayne City Utilities Federal Credit Union, retiring in 2000 as manager. She also worked as an Avon Representative. Mrs. Sprunger was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank all of her wonderful caregivers at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Brightstar, Dr. David Zimmerman and Staff, family and friends, and St. Michael Lutheran Church Family.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne (John) Baker of Fort Wayne; brother in law, Kenneth (Ruth Anne) Sprunger of Fort Wayne; and niece, Kathleen Sprunger of Houston, Texas.
Also preceding her in death was her husband of 61 years, Orel A. Sprunger on December 31, 2002 and her son, Stephen Sprunger on May 12, 1965.
Funeral service were Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Visitation was on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
