JOAN CARLEEN ROMARY (MCINTEER), 78
JOAN CARLEEN ROMARY (MCINTEER), 78, passed away on October 24 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Carl Sr. and Elizabeth (Sonnenberg) McInteer. Joan lived in Wisconsin until she was 10 years old. In 1951, she graduated from Central High School, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by Don David, her husband of 59 years; sons including Richard (Holly) of Churubusco, Indiana; Joseph (Susan); Philip (Oneida) and daughters Rebecca (Tim) Pape and Lizette (Pete) Downey, all of Fort Wayne; and fifteen grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rebecca Ann and her third son, Kenneth Charles; and her only brother Carl Harvey, Jr.
She enjoyed gardening, shopping and home decorating. Joan treasured her family and friends. She felt her most valued accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. Joan’s devout Christian faith, perpetual patience and support were among her strongest gifts.
Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 28, with visitation at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne. Visitation was 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd. Graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
