THOMAS C. KEMP JR., 69, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Visiting Nurse And Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Thomas worked as a professor with Tuthill for 8 years, retiring in 2004. He also worked at Kunkle Valve for 27 years. Tom was a member of VFW Post 1421 and American Legion Post 241. The Waynedale Lodge F &AM, Scottish Rite and Mitzpah Shrine. He enjoyed gardening, and loved his family and his 1929 Ford Model A “Hot Rod”.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Kemp, son, Robert (LeAnn) Armstrong, daughters, Sherry (Mark) Wheeler and Teresa (Jerry) Herron all of Fort Wayne; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister, Marsha (Bill Ewing) Gross of Fort Wayne.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Thomas C. Sr. and Jeanice Kemp, and great granddaughter, Chloe.
Funeral Service was Wednesday 10:00 am, October 12, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Calling also Tuesday, October 11, 2011 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00, with a Masonic Service at 7:30 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
